Let me just add one point: the change of the MIME type wasn't the only change, but it's the one that causes the problem discussed here. We also had some "real" (small) changes in the file format between the alpha version and the beta version of OOo 2.0 that might lead to some (mostly minor) differences in the way the document is displayed. But usually this shouldn't create big problems.
