Hi Sven
please tell me how I can install new fonts (from a CD) in the Writer?
In which directory I have to copy them?
You don't install fonts into Writer, you install them into Windows.
You can do that by right-clicking the font and selecting install, or you
can do it manually by copying the font in the the c:/Windows/Fonts folder.

Computer software should be affordable, effective and safe.
On a similar subject.
Thanks for the info regarding fonts. I opened the fonts folder and found
a boat load.
While at working using windows 2003 (Ithink) there is a font called
'barcodes 3-9' which is a handy little font for producing bar codes from
numbers (There is a little asterisk you have to put in manually, but
this is the only problem)
At home I have openoffice 2.1 and a windows operating system.
Is there any way to get the font that shows numbers as barcodes on to my
open office, via the Windows/fonts folder?
