And what do you mean that you can't make the dictionary or
spellchecker work? Did you use F11 to open the Styles and Formating
window? Did you modify the Default paragraph style so that the
language of your choice is selected? Did you install the dictionary
and thesaurus for this language?
If you are a professional, perhaps the Writer Guide would be of
help. The two chapters on styles in this guide should help.
