Sure :-) It is now (just now http://www.ubuntu.com/news/Ubuntu704Beta) beta... meaning not stable is my point. I have been testing Feisty for awhile now & have it running on 2 different systems; old one's - 300MHZ/256MB / 700MHZ/256MB and look forward to the 50 or so updates each day. On one system I had horific problems with the network-manager, on the other (700 updates later) it's working fine after I sorted out how to tell it that the infrared port on the laptop wasn't the primary nic... In any event I think you'll like it *much* better than Edgy. Drop me a direct note if you need some help. Back on topic: once you update & update & update & upgrade & upgrade etc., you'll end up with OOo 2.2(rc3) on your Feisty system. Please take it for a test drive and note differences from your prior versions of OOo. *Please* file/verify/contribute any bugs at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/ [currently having problems of it's own] so that the Ubunut'ized version gets fixed to match the official OOo version. Distro'ized versions tend to get screwed up for one reason or another & Ubuntu is no exception. In most (nearly all) cases I typically uninstall the included meta packages and install from OOo directly. However, in this case I am purposely testing the UOOo against a OOo so that I can help get the bugs out of the UOOo version before Feisty goes from beta to standard. Please do the same if you can & have time (lots of time).
