1) Why did you install such an old version? The current version is 2.1
2) What do you mean by "altered"? Depending on the options you selected
during the install, OpenOffice may make itself the default application
for MS Office documents. However you can still open them in Word, Excel
etc.
3) The usual Windows uninstall should work.
4) This list is manned (and womanned) by volunteers. There is no phone
contact.
