I think someone else already answered that, sorry if that was not the case. I don't know why I wrote what I wrote, maybe I just thought that it could be good to know in case he would uninstall OpenOffice.org and then install it
again. Yes, that sounds very stupid, I must have had a serious blackout.

Ok, just forget about it, an in case someone else also accidently read the
shit I was saying, just forget about the whole thing.

Please write to the papers and tell everybody how incredibly stupid I am.

And of course there is no way to untick those boxes when it's already too
late, but MAYBE reinstalling Word could work? If it works, then the
installation program also should take care of other file types, such as dot
etc, and you won't have to change all of them back manually. But I don't
have Word, so I can't really try this for myself.

I guess there are hundreds of ways to do it in much smarter ways than those
I accidently wrote here, so don't do what I say, just ignore me.

The easiest way is to change the file associations. In later versions of Windows, that can be done by right clicking on the file icon. Then select the check box to always use this app and select the program to run. They can also be changed in earlier Windows versions, but the process is a bit more involved.
