Hello,
In the middle of upgrading from OpenOffice 2.1 to 2.2, I get this message
"Some files that need to be updated are currently in use" and the memo shows
"Borland Developer Studio 2006" as the application that is using files that
need to be updated by this setup.
This makes me nervous, as I don't know why BDS would have files that
OpenOffice would updated.
Is it safe to select the "Ignore" button, or should I really close down BDS.
I'm afraid that the functionality of BDS may somehow change...

Are you on Windows? Might be an idea to set a restore point and then
close BDS.
Does BDS use Java? The latest OpenOffice download seems to include a JRE
by default.
However, on the Download page at
http://download.openoffice.org/2.2.0/index.html there's a check box
labelled "Include the Java JRE with this download". If you uncheck this
you get a different file - one that does not include a JRE. You might
then have to tell OpenOffice which JRE you want to use via
Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Java. Browse to your JRE and *make sure*
the radio button to its left in the list has a black dot in it even
though you only have one JRE.
