There's a check box on that download page, where you can deselect with JRE.
When I downloaded OOo 2.2 there was no check box to deselect JRE.
I just checked the download page again. The check box does not appear if Javascript is
disabled.I only appears if Javascript is enabled in your browser.
There should be an indication of how to deselect JRE without using Javascript. I and many
others disable Javascript for security and speed issuea.
