Hi Ron, to capture a thread isn't the best way to get an answer (your question could be invisible to many readers) - better opening a new thread ... well - now I'm here ... ;-)

Is there a simple way to check what dictionaries are installed ? Is there a simple way to remove installed dictionaries ?
IMHO a simple way is (here with OOo 2.1): opening the file <...programs>\OpenOffice.org 2.1\share\dict\ooo\dictionary.lst with any text editor. 'dictionary.lst' is the 'List of All Dictionaries to be Loaded by OpenOffice' - and the answer to your first question. Looking inside: [...] DICT en US en_US HYPH en US hyph_en_US THES en US th_en_US_v2 #DICT et EE et_EE #HYPH et EE hyph_et_EE #DICT hu HU hu_HU #HYPH hu HU hyph_hu_HU DICT it IT it_IT HYPH it IT hyph_it_IT [...] You can deactivate installed spell checker, hyphenator, thesaurus for selected languages by setting '#' (as you can see above - e.g. usually I don't need Hungarian and Estonian spell checker and hyphenator; but if I would need them, I could remove '#'). You also could remove the whole entries as described in http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=50862 Manfred --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
