Hi,
I have also noticed this. From my experience it tends to be anytime
you have not ended the previous sentence with a period '.'
For example:
This is a sentence:
this would not be corrected
This is a sentence.
This would be corrected.
So if you finish a sentence without a . for any reason (i often find
myself not using periods in bulleted lists) then it is worth looking
up at the screen.
Also have a look under the option in Tools -> AutoCorrect to see if
there is anything in there that may help.

I am using Open Office 2.2 and am experiencing the following:
The program tends to be forgetful when it comes to capitalizing the
first word of a new sentence. This is not always true but I have to
read everything I have typed to be sure this has not happened and
on long documents can be time-consuming.
I also found it to be true on your earlier version but until lately
have not made Open Office my primary word processor. The more I
use it the more I like it.
Is there something I can do to correct this?
