Sadly, while the script works in that it adds entries in the KDE menu under 
Mandriva 2007.0, the result is null since the menu entries created do not 
work.

probably because the names of the executables placed in the Command field do 
not correspond to the names of executables in /opt/openoffice.org2.2/program

F'rinstance, OpenOffice Writer calls a files called openoffice.org-2.0 -writer 
while the nearest I find in  /opt/openoffice.org2.2/program is called 
soffice, and "soffice -writer" does in fact start the word processor.

So it seems the "patch" supplied has been rendered obsolete by a change of 
file names in OO itself.
