Hi,

You need to open the file in OpenOffice not Windows Media player as it appears you are trying to do. You should find OpenOffice in Start -> Programs -> OpenOffce then select Impress. When Impress has loaded click File -> Open and find the pps file you want to open. If you would like all of your pps files to open in OpenOffice then find your pps file and right click on it. Click Open With and then click Choose Program. From the list choose OpenOffice Impress and then tick the box that says always use this program to open files of this type and click OK. Windows Media Player will not open pps files. If you do not find OpenOffice on any of the aforementioned lists then you have not installed the program.

Hope this helps

Tom

Nothing happens when I press F5 either

I get an error message that says:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

No I can't open anything with the extension PPS

Thanks, Terry

They should open OK but not as a slide show (unless 2.2 has changed
that). You then press F5 to start the slide show.
Are you not able to open ANY Powerpoint file?
