I have the same problem as indicated on issue 74732. A fix is given as CWS dba23a. What is this and where do I find it?

It´s a so called ChildWorkspace. A ChildWorkspace in OOo´s terms used in development and QA is a branch in the source code repository on which usually a few issues and/or new features are fixed together. Several such ChildWorkspaces together are integrated on a regular basis into new developer milestone/snapshot builds. And from time to time we than have new user releases containing everything fixed and/or new in a couple of months.

Current Developer snapshot builds can be found here:
http://download.openoffice.org/680/

There´s a web tool called EIS at

http://eis.services.openoffice.org/ where you can find data about ChildWorkspaces, you can search for ChildWorkspaces there and get more information about them, eg. their status (new=currently in development, ready for qa=Quality Assurance is currently looking at it, integrated=already integrated into a new milestone, etc.) or which issues are contained in the ChildWorkspace.

A direkt link to the ChildWorkspace you´ve mentioned is:

http://eis.services.openoffice.org/EIS2/cws.ShowCWS?Id=4954&Path=SRC680%2Fdba23a

There in the status history you can see that the status was changed to ready for QA 2 days ago. This means Quality Assurance is now looking at it and the fix has not yet been integrated into a new developer milestone build.

If you log in into EIS using your openoffice.org email address as username (Instead of using the guest account) and your openoffice.org password as password (provided you are a registered user at OpenOffice.org) you can also see the Release for which the ChildWorkspace is targeted. In your case that´s OpenOffice.org 2.3.

The Release Plan for OpenOffice.org 2.3 can be found on the following link:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease23

There you can read that OpenOffice.org 2.3 is currently targeted for September 4th, 2007. If you need a fix for that issue before that date you could track the status of the ChildWorkspace(CWS) in EIS and try out the developer snapshot after the status changes to integrated.

If you are a developer you could check out OpenOffice.org´s source code from it´s CVS source code repository using a special CWS tag containing the ChildWorkspace name and could build a version containing the fix now.

More information about EIS and ChildWorkspaces can be found in OpenOffice.org´s Wiki at this link:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/EIS

I have XP SP2, OOo 2.2, Mysql 5.0.37 community and latest jdbc connector.

I can connect to MySQL and see tables etc in Base. The moment I double click them, OOo crashes.

Are you sure that this IS really the same problem as issue 74732? Because as far as I have seen after a quick look at issue 74732, this issue explicitly talks about a problem restricted to the HSQLDB driver and connection pooling and you are using mysql. So maybe it´s just a similar problem and that would mean that we would eventually need a new issue to fix it than. Did you check that your problem is related to connection pooling and is not present when connection pooling is being turned off?
