Interesting. I'll give it a try. I wonder why the file opens on demand but the file access module won't see it. I'll be back at work next week (I'm a part-timer) and let you know whether it works. BTW - I wonder whether that's why I can't access Data Sources sited on the server when trying to do mail merges in text documents.
