Dear Sir of Madam I think I found a bug in OpenOffice v2.2 (latest version) for Windows. I tried to do the following:
Tried to load an htm file to Writer via a 'Send To' shortcut. This didn't work - tried several times. Tried to launch writer via usual shortcut - this didn't work. Tried to launch writer via double-clicking on a shortcut to an already existing odt file - this didn't work. Launched windows task manager and found multiple entries for soffice bin I ended the task for each of these in turn. On ending them (though not all of them) Writer launched and loaded the odt document that I had tried to load earlier by double-clicking on its shortcut. Hence, bug seem to be that trying to load an htm file into writer causes writer to malfunction such that it will not load itself if an attempt to launch is made by other means. Hope this helps.
