[users] How to write chinese with Open Office writer

I am using version 2.2 of OpenOffice.org. My problem is : I have Vista 
"basic" as operating system, i would like to create a document written in 
chinese. I noticed that it is possible to copy chinese characters within an 
OO document but not to type in the chinese caracters using the key pad (as 
it's possible with windows XP + Word). This action is not possible due to 
Vista basic or OOW?
