[users] trouble opening openoffice

I have just downloaded openoffice.org 2.2 onto my new mac with OS  
10.4.7(after installing X11) and I have copied the application to my  
applications list, but when I open the application it automatically  
opens Writer without allowing me to choose any of the other  
programs.  I can't find Calc or any other program, only Writer.  Does  
this mean it hasn't downloaded the whole suite of programs, or is it  
just that I don't know where to find them on my computer?  I read  
about the quick launcher tool in the help page but when I right-click  
nothing comes up.
Can you please help me?
