I have X11 installed and running in this computer I use it to run the
Gimp which works well.
I installed OpenOffice.org 2.2 and the only thing that happens is
that it says OpenOffice.org 2.2 in the upper left corner of the
screen next to the blue apple icon for about 15 seconds or so and
shows the openoffice icon in the doc during this time also. Open
office then quits and X11 is left standing there looking silly
because it has nothing to do.
This is why I have stayed away from open source software because it
hardly ever works (the gimp is the exception) and tech support is
much worse than microsoft tech support ever thought of being. I'm a
bit frustrated but I guess if I pay nothing and get nothing I really
shouldn't complain.
