Hi,
I have just found that if you open X11 (Applications -> Utilities ->
X11 and type
/Applications/OpenOffice.org\ 2.2.app/Contents/MacOS/program/soffice -
draw
it will open draw
so if one writes a script thingy:
open X11 and type:
nano /Users/YOURNAME/Desktop/calc.sh
type:
/Applications/OpenOffice.org\ 2.2.app/Contents/MacOS/program/soffice -
calc
(capitals important)
then press ctrl and x, then y then enter.
You should now have a file on your desktop called calc.sh
Ctrl + click the icon and choose open with -> other..
navigate to applications -> utilities -> X11 and tick always open
with then ok.
when you click this file it should open calc (it did for me).
repeat for other progs.
Hope this works for you

Hi Tom,
Thank you for your excellent suggestion.
Meanwhile, I discovered that OOo could be launched with parameters/
switches (See OOo Help/Command line parameters), like in: -calc, -
draw, etc... Unfortunately, I don't know enough about OS X to go
any further...
Thanks again

Hi,
I'm not sure if there is a more elegant way of doing this but I
would -
Create a blank Write document.
File -> Save As -> File format as Open Document Template
Save the file on your desktop.
Remove the .ott file extension and call the file Writer
Repeat for each type ie Impress, Calc etc
Hope this helps

Hello,
I'm a new Mac user. I just installed OOo 2.2 (under OS X 10.4) &
everything is working fine.
I'd like to create individual aliases (shortcuts in Winspeak) on
the desktop for each OOo app. (Writer, Calc, ...).
I checked the mailing list archives: No joy.
Can anyone show me what to do?
TIA.
