I run SUSE, not Fedora. However, in SUSE, there's a desktop icon, that
runs a command "oofromtemplate", which brings up the templates. Does
that command also exist in Fedora?
That's the answer I would like, but alas, 'oofromtemplate' doesn't seem
to work on FC6.
In FC6 you can install the KDE openoffice quickstarter (oooqs2) using
yum or "Add/Remove Programs" from the menu. It works under either KDE or
Gnome, although on Gnome it sometimes positions itself in the top left
corner of the screen rather than on the notification area of the panel
which is where it should be. If it does this, I close it down and
restart it, and it restarts in the right place.
