Robin & Dan,

The Linux version on the web site contains the RPM's you
want. Download the file if you have not already done so. Use
tar in a terminal window to "unzip" the file.
(tar -zxvf OOo_2.2.0_LinuxIntel_install_en-US.tar.gz) Then
browse to the RPMS subfolder that is created. rpm -ivh *.rpm is
the command you use to install OOo.
And then cd into the desktop-integration directory and run
 rpm -ivh openoffice.org-redhat-menus-2.2-9119.noarch.rpm
to get your desktop menus.
Loads of missing dependencies, principally java-gjc named stuff.

I'm going to have find another way to do this ...

Jonathan

Did you get OOo 2.0 from the www.openoffice.org or from Red Hat? The download file from OOo does not require any java unless your file is one with JRE included.

Dan

Hi Dan,

On the weekend I installed OOo 2.2 from OpenOffice.org on both my FC4 machines at home. It took a few minutes and all was done. Much faster than the official OpenOffice from the Fedora group. I have even found this on my FC6 at work.

From what I am reading on the Fedora list, I won't even look at the official Fedora release again. From the list, they are talking about missing bits of code due to licensing and legality issues.
