When I use OOWriter 2.0.2 on WinXP to open an HTML file, such as this minimal one:

<HEAD>
        <TITLE> HTML Example </TITLE>

<BODY LANG="en-US" DIR="LTR">
<P>a paragraph of text</P>

it insert the following paragraph at the top:

or, in code:

<P>&iuml;&raquo;&iquest;

Why are those entities there, and how can I prevent them from being inserted?
