You should have an icon, it looks like a sheet of paper with a
magnifying glass, approximately under the word FORMAT which you can
click to make the document editable. You did not say why it is write
protected in the first place, but I think it would be interesting if you
checked the attributes to see if the OS shows it as write protected, or
if the permissions are set to allow edits. You will probably have to
"Save As" and give your document a revised name to save your changes.
