Update: I just tried importing a Win98/Access97 database into the linux Ubuntu 7.04 2.2 OOo and it works. As a test I just imported the MS sample "Northwind" database that was included with Access97. So the OP should be able to do this if he upgrades to Kubuntu 7.04 (not recommended at this time for a production system as 7.04 is a newly minted beta).
