If you want the numbering to start on page 2, with page number= 2, do it with 
a different page style for page 1.

If you want numbering to start on page 2, with page number = 1, a quick and 
dirty bodge would be to have page one of your text in one document (with no 
page numbers) and the rest in a second document, with page numbering starting 
on the first page.
