Thanks Dan

It seems that my e-mails are getting through OK.

Yes, I am still receiving mail from the list. If you specify the incoming and outgoing mail server addresses correctly you can use one ISP connection to access mail on other ISP servers. Having set that up on my computer, I access mail from 3 different ISP's when I click on "Send/Receive" in Outlook Express, but having changed my default e-mail address to that of the satellite provider, I was not sure which of several e-mail addresses was registered with Users @ OOo ... that is why I foreshadowed my questions with an explanation.

Thanks for the reply and info.

James

You state you are not sending using your user email account, but are
you receiving email from this list?

I have a cash book which is a Calc spreadsheet (latest version), so
it has the usual columns:
DATE TRANSACTION-DETAIL AMOUNT BALANCE

Sometimes you will have one bank deposit transaction which includes
payments from several customers:

DATE TRANSACTION AMOUNT
13/4/06 Receipts $297.50

but this $297.50 might constitute several payments, like this
INV 1233 Smith $100.00
INV 1250 Jones $ 76.00
INV 1413 Brown $121.50

What I want to do is to insert a 5 row, 4 column spreadsheet inside
the transaction detail cell of my main spreadsheet so that I can
split the transaction total into its component parts. That way, if
I want to know if Mr Jones has paid I can simply search for "INV
1250", or "Jones", or "76.00"

Can this be done?

Kind regards, James

What you want to do might best be done by creating a database
associated with the spreadsheet. Then you can create queries to
locate the information you want. You could also set up a form which
included your deposits and a subform which would break down those
deposits into individual payments, who made them, the invoice number.
