Hi Bill,
One of the dialogues during the installation asks if you want to make
OOo the default program for Microsoft files. You must have checked the
boxes. To restore the association for PPS files, Shift-right click a pps
file and select 'open with'. Browse to the powerpoint viewer program and
select it. Make sure the box labels 'Always use this program' is checked.

Please tell me how to get Power Point Viewer back as my default .pps
viewer. I downloaded Open Office but I only wanted Writer and Calc and I
got it all. That's a bummer - since I dont' want all of that other stuff.
I know it's poor to be bitching about something that's free, but even if
it is free, it should not upset my table of what I do on my computer so
much. I want Power Point to show the slide shows that people send me that
are .pps files. Open Office Impress has taken over and I cannot watch
Power Point Presentations with Power Point. If all else fails, I will
delete all of Open Office stuff and go back to Microsoft (as bad as that
sounds). Thank-you in advance, Bill Andrea.
