Greetings.
Is there a way to create mailing labels -- the Avery label sort of thing
with multiple labels on an 8.5 x 11 sheet? I've grown accustomed to the
Mail Merge Wizard in MS Office for that purpose and I'm having trouble
making the transition to OO in this area.

It may be a bit more complicated in OOo than in the "expensive opposite"
In OOo you will need a database as source instaed of a sreadsheet.
So you'll first have to make this database from your existing spreadsheet.
The New > Labels will start your label making process.
