needed to vote for this. I wonder if the lack of votes reflects lack of usage
of Draw?

Yes, the base point should be one of the object's properties.

but has no votes, and a comment from a developer saying that the current
behavior is "wanted." Why anyone would "want" the current behavior is
beyond me.
