I don't remember referring to the GPL or any other license. It is not
a good thing morally, because the seller is not providing anything.
The software can already be obtained digitally free of charge from
www.openoffice.org.
Many people associate these sales as coming from OpenOffice and the
project's reputation is damaged.
I agree, I wish people would do a little research before posting 'i
want my money back' to this list. But they don't.

So, what is your point?

My point was that in this case it is not a good thing as
it does not allow those without broadband to get the
product.
How does the digital delivery make it not a good thing?
Read the GNU GPL and LGPL
Copying, redistribution by any means through give away or
sale is totally legal and endorsed by the GNU GPL and LGPL.
So far you have said nothing that gives any supporting
evidence that this is not a good thing.
People/supplier/vendor have the right to give it away or
sell it and people/customer have the right to get it free
or buy it, their choice. If people would just do a little
research before buying something they would find they have
other alternatives, again it is their choice. The seller is
doing nothing wrong but the buyer is not using all their
available tools before buying, their mistake.
So, tell me what is so wrong about what this person/seller
is doing?
