Hi,

anyone know of an alternative Danish dictionary for OOo?
Thank you for your advice.

They will work fine side by side. The only problem you might have
is file associations. While both programs will open a variety of file
formats, only one of them can be used to open a particular type file
by double clicking it.
Do you create your own custom dictionaries? You can, you know. At
the present time, they will only hold 2000 words. I have several
custom dictionaries that I use.

Hi Dan,
Two thoughts for you.
Do you realise you can very easily turn your custom dictionaries into
additional dictionaries which don't have the 2,000 word limit? (Although
the custom dictionary functionality may be what you need, as additional
dictionaries work differently.)
Have you thought about perhaps contributing some of the content of your
custom dictionaries to the maintainer if you feel it is appropriate?
As the Australian dictionary maintainer I certainly appreciate it when
people contribute their words, even if it is just one or two words. A
whole list would be even better;-) Your dictionary maintainer may feel
the same way.
Keep in mind that even though in my case I would guess there are
100,000-200,000 or more users of the dictionary, the number of
contributors in the first three years I could count on one hand. Only
since I have pulled the dictionary out from under the project and given
it more exposure this has increased, but it is still just a very small
number. The dictionaries can only get better if people provide the
feedback, and the feedback is appreciated.
The ability to improve the dictionaries is one area where projects like
OpenOffice.org IMHO is ahead of the competition.
