Have you considered
tar -xvzf OO*2.2.*.gz
and letting your shell fill in all the in-between characters? It sounds like
the download is not complete or you are in a directory other than the one where
the downloaded file exists. ls OO*2.2.*.gz will tell you if the file exists.
Alternatively you can
find ~ -name 'OO*.gz*' -print
and see if anything exists anywhere in your home directory or below. (The
single quotes are necessary.)

Just downloaded 2.2.0 from the OpenOffice.org website several times. when I
execute the following command:
tar -xvzf OOo_2.2.0_LinuxIntel_install_wRJE_en-US.tar.gz
I get the following errors:
tar: OOo_2.2.0_LinuxIntel_install_wRJE_en-US.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file
or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
or if I do an ls-l I get:
tar: OOo_2.2.0_LinuxIntel_install_wRJE_en-US.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file
or directory
The authorities are : 644, I'm owner and users is the group. This is the same
authorities as other tar files I am able to open.
Any idea why I cannot open and compile this? I was about to do 2.1 and others.
I'm on SUSE 10.2.
Any help or ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks
