I have a laptop with the same specs
and I use OpenOffice first and MS's products
only if OpenOffice cannot do the work,
which is rare.

I need MS's product for those who do not use OpenOffice
and will not convert over.

I really love the smaller file formats. A .doc file converts
to a tenth of the size in the .otf format.

I must keep MS, but most people will not need it.
There is no problem with using both on the same machine.

Subject: [users] Microsoft Office compatibility

Dear Customer Support,

I have a 512Mb Windows XP Pro computer with Microsoft Office 2003 installed on it already. Will installing OpenOffice onto my PC interfere with Office 2003, or will having Office 2003 already installed inhibit my use of OpenOffice.

Many thanks

Karol Jaworski
