I have tried the 5-step procedure you gave me several times, and I still get the same message. Today I purchased a copy of "Maximum PC" magazine, which included a cd with Open Office. I have tried several times to install the app, with no luck--still get the same error message. I am not proficient enough to even know what the rest of the error message means: "It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (NOT RECOMMENDED)." Any suggestions on how to get around this problem, anyone?
