I just downloaded Open Office 2.2 to my Dell Inspiron 1000 notebook computer
with WinXp installed. Toward the end of the installation, I got an error
message:

Error 1935:
Error occurred during installation of assembly 'cli basetypes, publicKeyToken = "ce2cb7e279207b9e",
version = "1.0.5.0", culture = "neutral".

Does anyone have any idea whether I can do something to overcome this, or is
this something that needs to be fixed?

Mike C.

It is an error that people report from time to time. From another
member on this list :

" Error 1935 has to do with an interaction between the installation
and anti-virus software which is running. In such cases the following
steps are required. Make SURE you complete one step before going to
the next one!!!

1) Disconnect from the internet. (If on dial-up, remove the phone line
from the computer; if on broadband remove the RG-45 cable; if on
WiFi, remove the WiFi connection.)
2) Close your anti-virus program and firewall. (Turn both of them
off.)
3) Install OpenOffice.org.
4) Restart your anti-virus and firewall programs. (THIS IS VERY
IMPORTANT!!!)
5) Reconnect to the internet."

HTH, /paul
