My 0S X 10.4.9 has the Safari operating system. Will
the product work on my Mac?

Thanks-

Hello Joseph

Please take a look at the Mac pages of OpenOffice.org:
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/
in particular the How-To install
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/Howto_OOo_2.0_MacOSX_english.pdf

To be brief: yes, OpenOffice.org can run on your Mac.
There are different versions for the PPC and the Intel Mac
(check on your computer: apple-icon top left > about this Mac > processor)

You will have to install the X11 windowing program
(X11User.pkg from your Mac OS X 10.4.x installation disks - you can use
Spotlight - icon top right on your screen - to locate the package on your
install disks)

You mention Safari, that is Apple's internet browser. To download
OpenOffice.org it is advisable not to use Safari because the download often
runs into problems. You can download a Mozilla browser, Firefox, for free (
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/)

The download of OOo start here:
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/download/x11-104.html

Come back to this users list with any more questions about installing and
using OpenOffice.org
and Good Luck!
