Apart from that, I dont know if the K/E/Ubuntu version of OO has had
functionalities removed....
I do confirm it was the case for previous versions : for example the Mozilla
plug-in was removed in 2.0.4 Ubuntu package IIRC. This has been confirmed by
users on the Ubuntu forum.
But I am using the Mozilla plugin now with Feisty. As far as I know it
was removed only in Edgy. And that was not an OOo feature that Ubuntu
removed; rather it was a Mozilla feature.
I don't think it was a Mozilla feature because it was in the official version.
And I don't see what kind of link Mozilla would have with an OOo plug-in. It
was clearly activated in OOo (internet settings), not in FF. NB: I said it was
for previous version, i.e. not Feisty. There are some threads on the Ubuntu and
OOo forums where Ubuntu users have fixed their issue (especially Impress crash)
by installing the official OOo version. Others do confirm response time and
font rendering improved with the official version also.
I do use (only) Ubuntu and it's not denigration, it's just my personal feeling
and what I've seen on forums. OOo will become a major part of any Linux distro,
its integration should be perfect to insure both the distro and the OOo success.
