There are filters available from M$ that allows M$O to open "Works"
files.  So, if one has access to M$O, they can save their files as .doc
and then open them in OOo.

then, I understand, neither will Microsoft Office.open Microsoft Works
files.  Come to think of it, that IS the world's greatest oxymoron -
