I downloaded open office. It instructed me to loa X11. I went to
tha Apple site, downloaded X11 and when I went to install it it said
this Mac didn't need it. Open office insists it won't run because
X11 is n ot installed. What now that I've paid for the app???

Trust you haven't 'purhcased' OOo since it is freely available from
www.openoffice.org. AFAIK X11 is also free so unsure what you mean by 'paid
for the app'??
