Nothing is always...... (update..rather than replace)
Maybe only if I want all my custom modifications to stay intact.
Custom modifications are kept in a place as
/document and settings/<name>/application data/OpenOffice.org/user/...
I can't see what removing the installer or not, has to do with keeping
those.
I am suggesting this for the users that get stonewalled by this
happening... very frustrating.
