In my version of Thunderbird (1.5.0.10) I can VIEW -> MESSAGE SOURCE
Ctrl + U to see
the obscured headers but it is more of a curiosity than anything useful
for production.

My version of Thunderbird spills out the headers and obscures the
message body, so most of the time I just have it on normal and don't
catch that. I put a filter on to tag those messages, though, so let's
see how well it works.
