If you know what case you used in the password, you can narrow down the selection to possibly 26^5, still a very large number (11,881,376) but maybe more susceptible to a dictionary attack.

protected.Iam the owner of the file and it is in my home
directory.i have lost the password. How can I recover the file? The
pasword
is 5 characters in lenght and consists of only characters.

As far as I know, the password isn't easily broken.

Lessee now 52 ^ 5 = 380204032 possible combinations. Grab a coffee. It's going to take a while.
