How did you try to open these files? Did you double click the
file and expect OpenOffice.org to open them? Or, did you use
File > Open and then browse to where the files were located?
I think you have a file association problem. The .sxc files are
Calc files for OOo version 1.x. OOo version 2.x uses .ods. You need
to tell the computer to open .sxc files with OOo 2.x. To do so, right
click one of the .sxc files and select Open with from the pop-up
menu. Select an OpenOffice.org program to open it (Calc if it is
listed). Click the box at the bottom which states always use this
program to open this type file (or similar words). Then click OK.
Then you should be able to double click a .sxc file and have OOo open
it.
