we are planning to use open office in the near future and are currently
elaborating the transition from MS Office.

Is there an eMail client / organizer like Outlook that you would recommend
that would fit the package?

We have some functionality between Excel sheets and Outlook's calendar to
automatize hourly schedule for short description, this isn't mandatory for a
transition, but on this behalf we recognized that an eMail client /
organizer sort of isn't part of open office.

Thus we as for hints, comments, recommendations for a program that would fit
in.
