I have tried what you advised but when I go to edit the LINKS is not
available for me to push.. It is listed under edit but it is not high
lighted for me to click on it so I can not get any further on your
suggestion than pushing the edit button.

If you could tell me how I can get the link to high light so that I can use
that it would be great

Use Edit > Links. This opens a window with a list of the linked
photos. Click one of the links to select it. Then use Control+a to
hightlight all of them. Click the Break Link button. You will be
asked if you want to break the selected link Click Yes. All the links
will be erase, and the photos embeded into the file. Click Close.
