     Try this: If you are using Windows, close the Quickstarter in the 
System tray. (An icon with three flying birds on a blue and gray 
background.) Then Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Java. When you 
do this, OOo will search your harddrive for the folder containing 
JRE. When it completes its search, there should be a JRE listed. 
Click Ok, and close OOo. When you reopen OOo, Base should work.
