I'm wondering if anybody knows of PDF converters that work well with OpenOffice. While I am not holding out hopes that it will convert
to OO format or that it will even integrate directly into OO, are
there any such beasts out there (free or commercial) and are the .doc
files that they put out easily read in OpenOffice?
If you are on linux:

http://pdf2oo.sourceforge.net/
works well in converting a pdf to a .odp
Read the README file for installing & dependencies.

If you are looking to do some extraction of text with some formating try
kword.

Cool.
Actually it was for a word processor list that I read, and the person
wasn't even talking about OpenOffice, but I thought that should it come
up and I want to find a good list to send off.
Of course, I could have followed my own advice and searched the list
first. But be nice: I'm up late and a little crotchety. ;-)
