Hi Cliff

Yes, they can live together very happily on the same drive.

A couple of points:

When installing OOo you will be asked if you want it to be the default 
program for .doc, .xls etc. files. You may want to leave those boxes 
unchecked.

OOo cannot work on the docx format files of MSOffice2007, so you will 
need to use one of the earlier formats (XP, 97) if you are wanting to 
exchange documents between the programs.
