I'm trying to extract email addresses from a list that includes other
information as well that I've compiled in an openoffice writer document.
Fortunately (for my tired brain, anyway), each email address is at the
end of each line. Sooooo, I've managed to figure out how to highlight,
copy, and paste each email message in a list to another document-page
and save the Macro as a keyboard combination.
BUT, when I go to the other page, nothing has copied there. And, when
I look at the original page, there cursor has moved down just one row.
So, there are 2 problems (at least):
1) how to embed my Macro within a Macro so that it repeats until the
end of the document? and
This would require you to write code manually (in other words, you can
not record a macro that will then know when to stop running).
2) how to get each address to paste to the other page?
By other page, I assume that you mean in a different document. Again,
probably no luck while recording a macro.
Both of these seemed simple enough, but they're not working.
3) is there something besides the OpenOffice help menu to walk one
through making Macros step by step?
I can email you the chapter that will discuss this from the
documentation if you desire. If so, send me a personal email and ask for
the "OOo documentation chapter dealing with recorded macros". I will
send you a copy.
Thanx.
