[users] Problems closing File

Whenever I use the Office program, I can not get out of the document, or the 
program itself, and the system will not allow me to shut off my computer.  I 
have to unplug it to get out of the document and the file.  Why is this?  How 
can I stop this problem?  Help!  Renate Schepp
